Japanse Tuin Hasselt

Hasselt

The Japanese Garden in Hasselt is a product of 30 years of friendship between Hasselt and the Japanese city of Itami. It is the biggest authentic Japanese Garden of Western Europe with 2.5 hectares. The garden was built under supervision of Japanese architects with as many materials from Japan as possible, to bring a small piece of Japan to Hasselt.

Currently the Japanese garden opens its doors to visitors from spring until fall. From the first blooming of the cherry blossoms until the leaves turn red, the Japanese garden changes with the seasons. During a visit to the Japanese garden you may enjoy authentic Japanese buildings in real Japanese setting. You are welcome to take part in the various workshops and events held throughout the season.

In September 2015, a new pavilion was opened that can serve for multiple purposes, such as meetings, workshops or group activities. Besides this it is also possible to reserve tea demonstrations, sushi-workshops, origami-workshops and more for your event. The Japanese garden is also a great place for photo events, as well as a day of relaxation and nature.

See you soon in the Garden!
